Operating without a conventional clutch pedal, and with full automatic, or semi-manual control. |
|
The first actual Dual Clutch transmissions arrived from Porsche in-house development for 962 racing cars in the 80's. |
|
In simple terms, it is two separate manual gearboxes, contained within one housing, and working as one unit. |

Standard servicing is traditional "time and distance" servicing where a service is due at a given mileage or time. This is 10,000 miles or annually on a modern VW.
Longlife servicing doesn't have fixed intervals. Instead, the interval varies, and the car tells you when it needs a service. The engine uses oil quality sensors to determine when the service is due.
VW only recommend Longlife servicing if:
-
Regular long distance driving
-
Driving at a constant speed with minimum vehicle and engine loading, and minimal towing Economical driving
